‘Water bears’
These guys (water bears, aka tardigrades) rock hard. This is my inner power animal.

Sollemnis sent me this video and its an intruiging and thought provoking watch. It asks the question what makes us happy. While I’m not sure I’m entirely convinced by his argument, he does have a good point. Go make yourself happy by watching it here. Of course its a TED talk, so be prepared for awesomeness.
The images speak for themselves. Big giant holes in the ground that are very scary at times.
There are still many mysteries in the universe for us to solve. Some right here in our own bodies. Others lie at the end of the unknown regions of the universe. Here’s a quick run down of a few things (13 to be precise) thats still baffle us today. We’re working to unravel the mysteries, but more just keep popping up.
This video shows a bunch of really cool and intriguing behaviors from some toys we are familiar with. The rattleback turtles were unknown to me until I saw this video. Crazy stuff! Embedded for maximum fun.
I’m always looking for ways to improve my thought processes and abilities. Consequently, I’ve stumbled on this article which claims to be able to help you develop independent thought. While I haven’t gotten a chance to try the technique, I use a method similar to the one presented. I have a feeling their system is probably credible.
Semi-related video: V. S. Ramachandran speaks about synesthesia, brain functioning and other related topics. Very good watch. Big version here.
Apparently, a town called Inakadate likes to combine art with agriculture. From the entry called “Pimp my rice paddy“, we learn that the town creates pictures of famous Japanese woodblock prints (and other things) in their rice fields. Eat your heart out Xhibit.
Totally unlreated bit: Photoshop tutorial on how to make “Web 2.0″ logos.
I’m not sure if I posted this video before, but its an interesting watch. Its about a mysterious building like structure under the sea off the coast of an island near Japan. There are of course two sides to this whole story. Some claim its a man-made structure, which puts its creation date at the beginning of the Ice Age; well before civilized societies are supposedly existent. Others claim its the natural fracturing of rock formations from tidal forces. Only time and research will tell.
Here’s a bit dated documentary about the moon. Big version here.
Speaking of the moon, here’s a very odd, but entertaining piece of art. Its called “I Lived on the Moon”. The music in my opinion is mesmerizing and excellent. The story a bit confusing. The imagery very interesting. (Thanks again videosift, you rock
)
I like cute. I saw these two things and thought they were awesome cute.
